COVID-19 Direct News Update: India reported 18,815 new Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the burden of the overall case to 4,35,85,554, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and the Welfare of Union Family. Meanwhile, the death toll rose to 5,25.34, with 38 new deaths.
The Union Ministry of Health on Wednesday reduced the gap between the second dose and the third dose preventive measures from the Covid-19 vaccine from nine months to six months. On Wednesday, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan wrote to countries that the decision had been taken to manage the third dose of preventive measures to the adult population after six months or 26 weeks from the date of giving the second dose. At present, the dose of precautions is available free from costs in the centers of government vaccination for priority groups -frontliners, health workers, and elderly populations are over 60 years old. For those aged 18-59 years, the dose of precautions is only available at the center of private vaccination.
In separate developments, in the midst of the surge in the Covid-19 case in Maharashtra, there has been no death related to Covid in Mumbai in the last 22 days. For the second day, the number of new Covid cases in the city was under 700. The day after reporting 659 cases, the city reported 695 cases on Wednesday. Also, Delhi reported 600 cases of Covid-19 and one death due to a virus infection while the position of the positive test dropped to 3.27 percent, according to data shared by the Ministry of Health here on Wednesday. With fresh and death cases, Delhi’s Covid calculation has risen to 19.38,648 and the death toll has jumped to 26,276, the department said in a bulletin.
