IC-814 hijacker Zahoor Mistry shot dead in Pakistan's Karachi

Zahoor Mistry, a terrorist involved in the piracy of an Indian IC-814 aircraft in Kandahar Afghanistan in 1999 was killed in Pakistan on March 1, according to several media reports.

Sources to News9 Mistry, who lived under false identity such as Zahid Akhund over the past few years in Pakistan, was shot dead in the Colony of Akhtar Karachi on March 1.

According to Lokmat News18, Mistry is the owner of the crescent furniture located in the Akhtar colony in Karachi.

In accordance with News9, Geo TV Pakistan confirmed the death and reported the murder of “entrepreneur” in Karachi without mentioning details about him or detailed crime.

CCTV footage of the murder shared by Geo TV shows two armed motorbike riders on the streets of the Akhtar colony entering the furniture warehouse after what looks like the recce of the area.

“We have confirmed the murder but has been asked not to report about this problem for several strange reasons,” a manufacturer in the Pakistani news network told news9 in anonymity.

News18 Lokmat said in a report that according to intelligence, Rauf Asgar joined the Akhund’s funeral procession in Karachi.

Asghar is the brother of Jaih-e-Muhammad and the Head of Jaish Masood Azhar.

The IC-814 aircraft from Indian Airlines was hijacked by five hijackers from Nepal on December 24, 1999.

The aircraft made a long trip to Amritsar, Lahore and Dubai before making a strategic stop in Kandahar Afghanistan which was under the control of the Taliban.

The mistracting crisis continued for a week after New Delhi was forced to release Islamic terrorists who were feared by Masood Azhar, Ahmed Omer Saeed Sheikh and Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar.
