With Netflix news in the United States will get the Sony Pictures film from 2022 for five years, this post will include all the new theater content that comes to Netflix from Sony during that period.
For those who were unconscious, Netflix and Sony signed an important contract on April 2021 to bring Sony feature films to services in the coveted-1 pay window. This means that every release of the Sony theater comes to Netflix about 6 months after they debuted in the cinema.
The deal goes beyond only carrying a theater release. At the beginning of 2022 we had also seen two direct-to-video films from Sony also landed on Netflix. We also see Netflix exclusively releasing some Sony production including Mr. Universe, Matilda, and Chatterley Women’s lover.
Hotel Transylvania: Transformania is scheduled to be released in January 2022 but has been sold to Amazon Studios who will take it and therefore skip the release of Netflix. Another exception included Escape 2 room, Spider-Man: There was no way home, and a journal for Jordan because they were released before January 1, 2022.
