Covid Live Updates: India's COVID-19 recovery rate up by 98.80%, says health ministry

The COVID-19 vaccination programme has resulted in the administration of 220.11 crore doses of Covid vaccine, according to the ministry’s website. On August 7, 2020, India’s Covid tally reached 20 lakh, on August 23, 40 lakh, on September 5, and on September 16, 50 lakh.

It exceeded the 60 lakh threshold on September 28, the 70 lakh threshold on October 11, the 80 lakh threshold on October 29

the 90 lakh threshold on November 20, and the 1 crore threshold on December 19. Two crores were reached in India on May 4, three crores on June 23, and four crores on January 25 of this year.

The weekly positivity rate was 0.12%, while the daily positivity rate was 0.09 percent.The number of active cases dropped by 12 in a single day, and they now make up 0.01 percent of all infections.

According to the health ministry website, the country’s COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.80%.4,41,45,854 persons have recovered from the illness, and the case fatality rate has been reported at 1.19 percent.

On Wednesday, the New Zealand government announced that it will not demand that visitors from China present a negative COVID-19 test, following a global trend that has seen many countries enact such regulations as cases in China soar.

Ayesha Verrall, the COVID-19 minister for New Zealand, stated in a statement that a risk analysis of the country’s public health had found that visits from China would not considerably increase the number of instances.There is minimal public health risk to New Zealand,” she said.
