Only President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his brother, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, will continue at their post, said Education Minister Dinsh Gunawardena.

 

The Sri Lankan army guarded at an examination post after the government imposed curfew after clashes between police and protesters near the residence of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa during the protest last Thursday, in the midst of the country’s economic crisis, in Sri Lanka.

 

The cabinet, which was hit by the Sri Lankan crisis resigned in bulk from their position at the Sunday night meeting, said the Minister of Education, as an anti-government protest increased despite the curfew.

 

The 26 ministers apart from President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his sister Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa resigned, Minister of Education Dinsh Gunawardena told reporters.

 

“All ministers submit their resignation letters so that the President can form a new cabinet,” said Gunawardena, added that the decision was taken after discussing the deteriorating economic crisis.

 

Three strong family members are among those who stop in the midst of increasing public anger towards lack of food, fuel, and drugs that spread from South Asian countries 22 million.

 

Brother Rajapaksa is the youngest, the finance minister of Basil, and their oldest, Chamal, who holds the agricultural portfolio, and Scion Namal family, the Minister of Sports, all resigned.
