Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on Saturday released the 10th installment of financial benefits under the Pradhan scheme of the Samman Nidhi Mantri Mantri (PM-Kisan). The event will be held at 12:30 a.m. through a video conference.
According to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s office, a number of more than ₹ 20,000 Crore will be transferred to more than 10 families of crore receiver farmers. The next statement said this initiative was in line with the commitment and sustainable government determination to empower grassroots level farmers.
In particular, under the scheme, farmers who meet the requirements are given financial benefits of ₹ 6,000 per year paid in three monthly installments of ₹ 2,000. The funds are transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiaries.
According to the Ani news agency, a number of more than ₹ 1.6 Lakh Crore has been transferred to a farmer family so far under this scheme.
This scheme also does not apply to agricultural landowners who are current government employees or retirees, serving or former parliamentarians and MLAS or Minisas, according to Livehindustan.
Those who use their farms for some work other than agriculture do not meet the requirements to benefit under the scheme. Also, people who work in agriculture others and not landowners do not qualify.
Meanwhile, during the event, the Prime Minister will also release more equity grants than ₹ 14 crores to around 351 farmer manufacturer organizations (FPO), which will benefit more than 1.24 lakh farmers, report Ani.
Modi is also expected to overcome the nation during the event, the report said further.
The ninth installment of the PM-Kisan scheme was released by the Prime Minister in August this year when he virtually transferred ₹ 19,500 Crore to more than 9.75 farmers Crore.
