 Parliament Live Updates: The Election Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021, which tries to interface appointive rolls with the Aadhaar biological system to remove duplication, was passed in the Lok Sabha on Monday in the midst of dissent by Opposition.

Presenting the bill, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said the enactment will end counterfeit democratic in the nation and make the constituent interaction more sound. Rijiju presented the bill even as MPs from the Congress, DMK and TMC were remaining in the Well of the House, yelling mottos against the public authority.

Resistance groups drove by Congress went against the bill, saying it will encroach the central freedoms of residents. They likewise claimed that the bill will abuse the Supreme Court judgment on Aadhaar and requested the Bill be shipped off a Standing Committee.

In the mean time, Rajya Sabha was suspended till 3 pm for the subsequent time till 3 pm as resistance groups proceeded with their fights on different issues, including the suspension of 12 individuals from the House.
